Cultural Tours & Trekking
Cultural Tours
You don’t need museums to take you the past here, Bhutan is a living museum.
Bhutan is a Buddhist country and Buddhism is a way of life here. Our culture is therefore very much influenced by our religion. When visiting Bhutan, you are stepping away from the chaotic world of stress, and worries and stepping into a magical kingdom, hidden in the Himalayas. Right from the time you enter Druk Air or driving through the Bhutan-India boarders in the south, you will be welcomed with the colorful Bhutanese architectures, the warm people in their beautiful kiras and ghos (national dress of Bhutan), and the amazing landscape.
The Bhutanese are very proud of the fact that, in today’s fast emerging world, our culture remains intact and virtually unchanged for centuries.
A cultural tour of Bhutan will take you on tours from hill top monasteries to quaint villages, from the majestic Dzongs (fortresses) to mask dances, from mingling with local Bhutanese to attending a traditional Bhutanese night (including Bhutanese dinner, and entertainment – traditional dances performed by local dance troops). You will be immersed in a culture so unique, and peaceful, your only risk is not wanting to leave.
